Members of Fork Union Military Academy's band traveled to Richmond recently to provide music for a special event in the Governor's Mansion, as Governor Glenn Youngkin and First Lady Suzanne Youngkin welcomed member of Virginia's National Guard and their families to the Governor's residence for a celebration of the holidays.

"First families have long welcomed members of the Virginia National Guard to enjoy the Executive Mansion over the holidays, a valued aspect of our #homehistory," wrote First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin in a recent social media post about the event. "To have the opportunity to welcome some of these families into Virginia’s home this past weekend meant the world to Governor of Virginia and me. While many call the holiday season ‘the most wonderful time of the year’, it can also be the hardest, especially for the families of those brave souls that are deployed overseas and abroad serving our country."

Music Director John Warren reports that Governor Youngkin has invited members of FUMA's band to return to the Governor's Mansion again this Thursday evening to provide music for another special event. The four cadets in the FUMA Band's saxophone quartet will depart campus for the Executive Mansion late Thursday afternoon.
