Asumadu Addo is a senior from Accra, Ghana and is the son of Kofi and Vivian Asumadu Addo.

Senior Nhyiraba Asumadu Addo has been selected to represent Fork Union Military Academy in the Battle of the Brains All-Star competition. The All-Star competition features eight standout players from the 36-team Battle of the Brains Tournament.

Asumadu Addo is a senior from Accra, Ghana and is the son of Kofi and Vivian Asumadu Addo.

The All-Star participants were hand selected by the Battle of the Brains staff. The eight All-Star players will be split up into two teams and will compete virtually on Wednesday, April 27. The match will air on WTVR – Channel 6 this June.

Asumadu Addo joins juniors Jackson Pretus, Dino Siervo and Ousmane Dieng on the Blue Devil squad, who have reached the quarterfinals of the tournament. Coached by Dr. Alexander Welch, the quartet defeated Princess Anne High School, 235-225, in the first round and Monacan High School, 205-195, the second round to advance to the quarterfinals. Fork Union will face First Colonial High School, which airs in a few weeks.

The Battle of the Brains is Central Virginia’s longest running TV high school academic quiz show. Broadcasted throughout Virginia over the years, Battle of the Brains has highlighted the diversity and intelligence of more than 3,500 of the brightest young minds of The Commonwealth.
