  Jackson Pretus Three Fork Union Military Academy cadets scored perfect 5’s on the AP US Government exams, the AP College Board announced Thursday. Cadet Gregory Hyson delivers the Valedictory Address for the Class of 2021. Hyson will attend Howard University in the fall.   Cadet Hector Hernandez proudly displays his diploma.   The Fork Union Military Academy family and entire basketball community is mourning the passing of Virginia Sports Hall of Fame basketball coach Fletcher Arritt who died Wednesday, June 16, at the age of 79. Arritt, a 1960 alumnus, worked at the Academy for 46 years as a basketball coach and biology teacher.  Arritt first arrived at Fork Union Military Academy as student in 1959, playing basketball for Coach Bill Miller and earning the role of team co-captain.   Colonel David L. Coggins, President of Fork Union Military Academy, is pleased to announce the hiring of Ben Jamison as the Academy’s Chaplain.   The position became available after Dr. James Benson received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Liberty University in May and will be moving to a position as a teacher and college placement counselor in the fall.   I wanted to provide you with an update on the Academy as we close the 2020-2021 academic school year.    1. Our 122nd Academic Year: The Corps of Cadets completed a full academic year with in-person classes and scheduled virtual learning throughout a global pandemic. Our cadets have worked hard in the classroom since August, engaged fully in our military structure while away from their families and friends.  In-person visits were very limited with just two major leaves and no weekend...
