Fork Union Military Academy proudly congratulates Ms. Rebecca Monroe on being named Teacher of the Term for Term 2 of the 2025–2026 academic year.
At the end of each grading term, cadets are invited to nominate teachers who have made a meaningful impact on their academic progress and personal development. These nominations are reviewed by the Teacher of the Term/Year Committee, composed of non-academic staff, who thoughtfully evaluate each submission before selecting the honoree.
Ms. Monroe joined Fork Union in August 2025 as an English teacher. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, she supports the Pink Slip ED Program and contributes to the yearbook. During Term 2, she taught English 8, where she made a lasting and positive impression on her students.
Cadets consistently described Ms. Monroe as kind and understanding, sharing that her teaching style brings out their best. Several of their nomination comments included:
“I am nominating Ms. Monroe because she is a good teacher. Ms. Monroe makes everything nice and easy to understand. She helps us with whatever we need help with and makes sure everybody knows what they are doing. She helps us become better as cadets and students.”
“She is an amazing teacher who always helps with any questions. She has taught many things in that class that I have remembered. Many times before, I hated English class, but I enjoyed her class.”
“I'm nominating her because she is a secret blessing at Fork Union. Personally, she helped me a lot in English class while maintaining a high standard. And she always knew when students needed help and when they didn’t.”
Fork Union Military Academy extends its sincere congratulations to Ms. Monroe on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her exceptional dedication to the growth and success of our cadets.
