Fork Union Military Academy had the honor of being featured at the annual awards ceremony of the regional American Legion and Masons on Monday, October 27, in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Fork Union’s President, CAPT Mark E. Black, USN (Ret.), served as the featured speaker for the event, which celebrated service, leadership, and community partnership. The Academy’s Color Guard opened the ceremony in impressive fashion, setting the tone for a meaningful occasion.

During the event, CAPT Black was presented with the Community Builders Award and a Certificate of Appreciation, recognizing his leadership and commitment to building strong community relationships. Following his remarks, WM Mike Dove of Lodge 4 also presented CAPT Black with a print of George Washington as a token of appreciation.

The group of Masons, along with Lodge 55 of the American Legion, has adopted Fork Union Military Academy and has generously contributed approximately $1,500 to the Academy Fund in support of the school’s mission and cadets.

Fork Union Military Academy extends its sincere thanks to Lodge 55 of the American Legion for their continued generosity and support.

Cadets Asah Jumper, Elijah Watson, Braman, Wesley Hayes, and Tytus Goode represented the Academy with distinction and professionalism.
