Fork Union Military Academy proudly continues its tradition of recognizing cadets who exemplify leadership, character, and excellence. GySgt Charlie Coulter, Commandant of Cadets, recently announced the Cadet Leader of the Term and Cadet of the Term honorees for Term 2, students who have gone above and beyond in their daily responsibilities and personal development.

The Cadet Leader of the Term award was presented to Cadet Noah Wasilewski of Bravo Company. Wasilewski, a freshman from Wallingford, Connecticut, is the son of Katie and Andrew Wasilewski. A Trustee Scholar in his first year at Fork Union, he has already made a strong impression through his dedication and emerging leadership.

The Cadet of the Term award was presented to Cadet William Clark of Alpha Company. Clark is a junior from Wayne, Pennsylvania, and the son of Patricia Hillis-Clark and Alexander Clark. Also, in his first year at the Academy, Clark has distinguished himself through consistent effort, responsibility, and a positive influence on his peers.

Bravo Company was also recognized as the Winning Company for Term 2, reflecting the collective effort and discipline of its cadets.

Selection for these honors is both thoughtful and thorough. Each company begins by nominating one cadet in each of two categories, including Category 1 for cadets ranging from Private to Corporal, and Category 2 for cadet leaders from Sergeant through Captain. Finalists then appear before a board comprised of Command Sergeant Major Glenn Sidwell and four senior cadets from the Battalion Staff.

Arriving in full Class A uniforms, candidates are evaluated on their knowledge of the Academy's history, values, regulations, and the Honor Code, as well as their leadership traits and military bearing. They are scored across seven areas, including personal appearance, communication skills, knowledge of current events, military awareness, and room and wall-locker displays, with a maximum composite score reflecting both discipline and excellence.

For their outstanding performance, Cadet Wasilewski and Cadet Clark each received a $25 gift card and will advance to compete in the Cadet/Leader of the Year board later this academic year. Their accomplishments represent the best of what Fork Union strives to instill in its young men: integrity, accountability, and leadership.

Both cadets, along with Bravo Company, will also receive an additional leave opportunity from December 12–14.

Congratulations to Cadet Wasilewski, Cadet Clark, and Bravo Company on these well-deserved honors!
