Every Friday the Fork Union Military Faculty and Staff meet to nominate a few who have exceeded the standards and demonstrated superlative performance. Whilst we have various awards and recognitions - a simple "Well Done!" we hope, is also appreciated. The combination of the Bravo and Zulu nautical signal flags, i.e., Bravo Zulu, also referred to as "BZ," is a naval signal, typically conveyed by flag hoist or voice radio, meaning "Well Done" with regard to actions, operations or performance.

The following are the Bravo Zulu awards for this week:

Cadet Sergeant Dalton Davis is a senior and third-year cadet in Bravo Company. He is a boarding student from Leland, NC. Cadet Davis volunteered to form a team to put up the flags on the circle for special events. He took the initiative to recruit and train a number of cadets to properly post the flags for Founder’s Day. Additionally, Cadet Davis has taken personal responsibility to identify and recommend flags that need to be replaced. The pride he takes in public presentation of the academy is a testament to his character. Bravo Zulu, Cadet Davis!

Cadet Private Jayden Robbins is a junior and a first-year cadet in Bravo Company. He is a boarding student from Chester, VA. Cadet Robbins has tasked himself all week to stay after every meal in the dining facility to clean up every company and also clean the salad bar. Bravo Zulu, Cadet Robbins!

Cadet Private Jase McClung is an eighth grader and first-year cadet in Charlie Company. He is a boarding student from Currituck, NC. Cadet McClung volunteered to assist in clean-up for every event surrounding Founder’s Day. Regardless of the circumstances, he is always eager to assist. Bravo Zulu, Cadet McClung!

Cadet SST Niv Patel is a sophomore and third-year cadet in HSC Company. He is a boarding student from Chesapeake, VA. Cadet Patel has earned his place as squad leader in 2nd platoon. He is proactive, demonstrates understanding of cadet issues, holds himself and his peers accountable, and has outstanding dedication to cadets in his squad. He also participates in Community Service. Bravo Zulu Cadet Patel!

Dr. James Benson coordinated another very well-run picture day for cadets, faculty, and staff. There are many behind-the-scenes logistics that must be coordinated for this event to run smoothly. We appreciate Dr. Benson’s work on this project year in and year out. Bravo Zulu, Dr. Benson!

Mrs. Agnes Davis, Painter, does a tremendous job keeping the campus buildings looking great. She provides fast, quality work with a cheerful attitude. Bravo Zulu, Mrs. Davis!

Our Maintenance Team is recognized for their hard work in beautifying the campus last week for our 124th Founder’s Day celebration. Their attention to detail is appreciated. Bravo Zulu, Maintenance Team!

A special thank you to the anonymous donors who bought chamois drying towels for our swimmers to use between swims/dives for safety. Go divers!

Go FUMA!
