On Wednesday morning, the cadets, staff, and faculty of Fork Union Military Academy gathered around the flagpole for the annual See You at the Pole worldwide prayer event. Together, they lifted prayers for God’s grace and love to be present within the Academy, across the nation, and throughout the world.

See You at the Pole began in 1990 with a small youth group in Burleson, Texas, and has since grown into a global movement. Each year, on the fourth Wednesday of September, students from around the world unite in prayer. At Fork Union Military Academy, the event is organized by members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and is open to all cadets, staff, and faculty.

The gathering holds special significance on Fork Union’s campus, as it is one of the few occasions when cadets are permitted on the grass of Fraley Circle, symbolizing the moment’s reverence and unity.

“I’m very excited that our Cadet Corps was able to participate in the See You at the Pole prayer movement,” said Ben Jamison, the Academy Chaplain. “A significant number of our cadets prayed with courage and conviction for our corps, campus, and leaders. It’s inspiring to witness the spiritual growth in these young men as they take a more active role each year.”

Faith and fellowship are central to student life at Fork Union. The Corps of Cadets attends chapel services twice a week during the academic schedule, as well as Sunday services. Cadets are also encouraged to engage with local congregations and youth groups and may participate in weekly Bible studies organized by their peers and the FCA.
