Fork Union Military Academy is proud to announce that cadets Tyler Hill, Francisco Duarte, and Tyson Morris have been selected to participate in the 2026 Virginia Tech Honor Band, a prestigious annual festival that brings together top middle and high school musicians from across the region held Friday, January 23.

The Virginia Tech Honor Band Festival, held each January in Blacksburg, Virginia, provides exceptional young musicians with the opportunity to rehearse, learn, and perform in a collegiate setting alongside university faculty and guest clinicians. Students are chosen through a highly competitive audition process and represent some of the finest young musicians in the Commonwealth and surrounding areas.

“This is an outstanding honor for Tyler, Francisco, and Tyson,” said John Warren, Director of Music at Fork Union Military Academy. “Being selected for the Virginia Tech Honor Band speaks volumes about their talent, dedication, and work ethic. Opportunities like this expose our cadets to collegiate-level expectations and help prepare them for continued musical success beyond Fork Union.”

Throughout the festival, the cadets will participate in intensive rehearsals and clinics led by Virginia Tech faculty and guest clinicians, gaining valuable experience working within a high-level ensemble environment. The event culminates in an evening concert at Virginia Tech’s Center for the Arts, offering students a memorable and inspiring performance opportunity.
