Fork Union Military Academy is not projected to be in the immediate path of Hurricane Nicole.

We anticipate it will be “ops as usual” for us, but we are informed, prepared, and well-rehearsed for weather emergencies.

Projected path of Hurricane Nicole

Our crisis action team and maintenance crews are on campus. Our dining hall has food for weeks, our generators are fueled and secured with automatic switch-over in case we lose power.

Our cadets react instantly to situations requiring alert, focus, and appropriate actions. They have utility uniforms, proper boots, waterproof jackets, gloves, glow-belts, and flashlights if we need to be outside in severe weather.

We have a caring and experienced leadership team with Chaplains, loving Christian leaders, and those who understand, as parents, that children react differently under stress. We have a few cadets from Florida and will be available to support and keep them focused, as well as to provide the means to communicate with their family as desired. Our cadets are like our sons. God loves them and so do we.

May God bless all those in the path of hurricane Nicole.

In Christ,
Colonel David L. Coggins, USMC (Ret.)
President
Fork Union Military Academy
