Fork Union Military Academy is celebrating a historic milestone after its 100 Gifts in 100 Hours challenge raised an extraordinary $188,173.60 through 158 gifts, making it the most successful Founder's Day fundraising campaign since the initiative began in 2018.
Held October 12–16, 2026, the campaign invited alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends to come together in celebration of the Academy's 128th birthday on October 15. With an initial goal of securing 100 gifts in 100 hours, the Fork Union community answered the call, surpassing the participation goal with 58 gifts and setting a new fundraising record.
This year's total more than doubled the Academy's previous Founder's Day fundraising record, marking a remarkable milestone in the campaign's history.
What began as a challenge centered on participation became and incredible demonstration of the generosity, loyalty, and commitment of the Fork Union community.
"The generosity of the Fork Union community continues to amaze me," said Stephen Macek, Acting President. "What we accomplished during these 100 hours is a powerful reflection of the belief our alumni, parents, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, and friends have in this Academy and its mission. Every gift represents an investment in our cadets and the opportunities we provide them. On behalf of the entire development team, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this historic milestone possible."
Throughout the week, cadets, faculty, staff, and coaches helped bring the campaign to life by sharing personal messages about why giving to Fork Union matters. Their stories highlighted the people, experiences, and opportunities that make the Academy special and the lasting impact of philanthropy on generations of young men.
The campaign's success reflects the continued dedication of the Fork Union community to supporting the Academy's mission of developing young men in body, mind, and spirit.
Every gift, regardless of size, played a role in reaching this historic milestone. From first-time donors to longtime supporters, each contribution represented a shared belief in the Academy and its future.
As Fork Union Military Academy celebrates 128 years of tradition, excellence, and brotherhood, the record-breaking success of 100 Gifts in 100 Hours serves as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when the Fork Union family comes together.
To everyone who made a gift, shared our message, or helped make this campaign a success, thank you. Your generosity and commitment continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our cadets and the future of Fork Union Military Academy.
