On September 30, 2024, the College Placement Department at Fork Union Military Academy hosted a Direct Admission Event featuring Ms. Shelby Lee from Liberty University. The event was open to all interested senior and post-graduate cadets, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage directly with a university representative.

Prior to the event, cadets completed their applications, allowing for an efficient and personalized experience. On the day of the visit, each cadet met individually with Ms. Lee to review their application, two short response essays, and academic transcripts.

This individualized approach resulted in immediate admission decisions for the cadets.

The Academy is pleased to announce that 14 cadets - 13 seniors and 1 postgraduate lacrosse player - received provisional acceptance to Liberty University during this event. For some seniors, this marks their first college acceptance, a significant milestone that has brought immense relief and excitement. Many cadets shared their good news with family members soon after receiving their acceptance.

Looking ahead, the College Placement Department will host its next Direct Admission Event at Randolph College on October 9, 2024. Seniors and postgraduate basketball and lacrosse players are encouraged to sign up for the campus tour and subsequent admission event, with registration closing on Friday, October 4.

Additionally, another Direct Admission Event is planned with Radford University on October 28, 2024.
