Fork Union Military Academy is pleased to announce that the TAC Officer for Alpha Company is now CPT Alton Terry. CPT Terry has been serving in the Commandant’s Department as an Evening TAC Officer, Head Wrestling Coach, and an assistant football coach throughout this school year and now moves into the position of leadership as Alpha Company’s TAC Officer. TAC stands for “Teach, Advise, Coach” and CPT Terry’s education and experience makes him very well suited for this role.
CPT Terry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Shaw University in 2012 and completed his Master of Science degree in 2019 from Strayer University. He is currently in the process of completing his doctorate degree from Liberty University. CPT Terry has worked in public safety throughout his career at both the local and federal level prior to joining the staff of Fork Union Military Academy in August of this year.
A student-athlete while at Shaw University, he was a member of football teams that won two CIAA championships and made an NCAA football playoff appearance. CPT Terry has made use of his athletic experience during his time at Fork Union Military Academy by serving as the head coach of our wrestling program and an assistant coach with our football program.
“CPT Terry will be a great asset to Alpha Company,” stated LTC Tony Moss, the Commandant of Cadets. “His skillset, creative mind, and personality will positively impact the cadets in the company.”
