The Estes Dining Hall buzzed with energy on Monday evening as Fork Union Military Academy hosted its annual Club Rush during dinner, giving cadets the opportunity to discover and sign up for a variety of extracurricular clubs. The event showcased the Academy’s commitment to providing a well-rounded cadet experience beyond the classroom.

Tables lined the dining hall with faculty sponsors and student leaders representing 13 dynamic clubs and activities. From academic challenges to artistic expression and athletic pursuits, there was something for every cadet to explore.

Clubs Available This Year:

  • Quiz Bowl – Test your knowledge and compete in academic trivia competitions.
  • Interact Club – Partner with Rotary International and serve the local community.
  • Speech and Debate – Hone public speaking and persuasive argument skills.
  • Choir – Sing in harmony and perform at Academy and community events.
  • Woodworking – Learn craftsmanship and create with your hands.
  • Powerlifting – Train and compete in strength-based competitions.
  • Scuba – Get certified and dive into the world beneath the surface.
  • Tennis – Improve your game and enjoy friendly matches.
  • Engineering – Build, problem-solve, and innovate through hands-on projects.
  • Become a Tour Guide – Represent the Academy and welcome visiting families.
  • Aqua Confidence – Gain water safety and swimming proficiency.
  • String Ensembles – Play classical and contemporary pieces in group settings.

This year’s Club Rush emphasized the importance of cadet engagement and leadership. Faculty and staff encouraged cadets to try something new, develop their talents, and invest in the community culture that makes Fork Union unique.

“Fork Union isn’t just about academics and athletics, it’s about finding your place and passion,” said Ms. Regina Delman, Operations Assistant. “These clubs give cadets the chance to lead, to serve, and to grow in confidence.”

As sign-up sheets filled with eager names, it was clear that cadets are ready to dive into the new school year with enthusiasm, not just in the classroom, but in every corner of campus life.
