Fork Union Military Academy is thrilled to announce CPO/USN Jim Rooney as the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year! Selected by a committee based on cadet nominations, Chief Rooney has impressed with his 17 years of dedication to the Academy.

Chief Rooney's passion for languages shines through in the Foreign Language Department, while his coaching in soccer and basketball demonstrates his commitment to a well-rounded cadet experience. His impact was further recognized by being named Teacher of the Term for Term 4 while teaching Honors German 3.

The nominations from his cadets truly speak volumes about Chief Rooney's positive influence. Throughout the academic year, Chief Rooney taught Spanish and German.
