This past Thursday, 13 Fork Union Military Academy cadets took a profound step in their walk with Christ, publicly declaring their faith through the sacrament of baptism. Academy Chaplain Ben Jamison led the sacred ceremony at the Fork Union Aquatic Center, where these young men were immersed in water as a symbol of their new life in Christ.
Surrounded by family, faculty, staff, and fellow cadets, Ethan Wells, Benjamin Wingfield, Eeziyah Velez, Nicholas Venhorst, Luc Havens, Vu Tran, Prince Kajwengye, Ian Egbert, Calvin Seibert, Taylor Williams, Braden Ferguson, Landon Hirahara, and Asah Jumper boldly professed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Their baptism represents not only obedience to Christ’s command but also a deep and personal commitment to follow Him.
This powerful moment of renewal and transformation reflects Fork Union Military Academy’s mission to nurture the spiritual growth of its cadets. We rejoice with these young men as they embark on this journey of faith, and we pray that God will strengthen and guide them as they continue to walk in His grace.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
