We are pleased to share that Fork Union Military Academy will operate on a normal Friday schedule tomorrow.

Academic Schedule

• Classes will begin at 0800.
• Day students should arrive and be signed in by 0715.

While we are returning to normal operations, we encourage all families to use caution when traveling to campus, as some areas may still be experiencing lingering winter conditions.

And while it may be cold and frigid outside, our cadets are still finding ways to have fun and make the most of the winter weather!

As we continue to monitor road conditions following this week’s winter weather, Fork Union Military Academy will operate on a delayed start tomorrow, Thursday, January 29, with classes beginning at 0900.

Please review the important update below:

Academic Schedule

• Classes will begin at 0900 on Thursday, January 29.
• Day students should arrive and be signed in by 0815 to allow for additional travel time.
• Families are encouraged to continue exercising good judgment when traveling to campus, as temperatures remain below freezing and some road conditions may still be hazardous.

If your cadet’s arrival will be delayed, please notify us by emailing absent@fuma.org.

Upcoming Athletic Events & Changes:

• Thursday, January 29: 
  • Varsity Basketball will host St. Christopher's at 1600.
• Friday, January 30: 
  • JV & Varsity Basketball will host Saint Anne's-Belfield. Tip-offs are set for 1630 and 1800, respectively. 
• Saturday, January 31:
  • Wrestling -- Virginia Prep League Championships have been moved to Collegiate School. Weigh-Ins are set for 0900. Competition begins at 1030.
  • PG Lacrosse -- The away game at William Peace University has been rescheduled to Monday, February 2 at 1500 at WakeMed Soccerplex.
  • Swimming -- Virginia Prep League Championships are still on at St. Catherine's School. Competition begins at 1000. 
  • Track & Field -- The meet at St. Christopher's School is still on. Events begin at 1000. 
  • PG Basketball -- Set to travel to Atlanta, Georgia for the EPL Circuit at The Skills Factory. Saturday's game against AOA starts at 1315 and Sunday's tip-off against Winston-Salem is set for 1200.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s winter weather communication, we would like to confirm that Fork Union Military Academy will resume classes tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, with a delayed start beginning at 0900.

As a reminder from our previous message:

• Families are encouraged to continue to exercise good judgment when traveling, as road conditions and temperatures may remain hazardous in some areas.
• We encourage families returning cadets to campus today to do so during daylight hours and before sunset, as temperatures are expected to remain below freezing.
• Wednesday will operate on a delayed start, with classes beginning at 0900.
  • Day students should arrive and be signed in by 0815 to allow for additional travel time.
