Congratulations to alumnus Josh Henriques on his recent graduation from the US Air Force Academy & commissioning as a 2LT in the USAF. His next assignment will be at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.

Josh is the son of Miguel and Pauline Henriques of West Nyack, NY. He attended Fork Union Military Academy since August 2013 when he enrolled as an eighth grader.

Josh was the Valedictorian of the FUMA Class of 2018 and was recognized as an Honor Graduate, earning an accumulated grade point average of 4.581.

In his senior year at Fork Union, Josh was awarded The MacArthur Award as the graduating senior who best embodies the principles exemplified by the life and service of General Douglas MacArthur, and shows a daily commitment to General MacArthur's watchwords: Duty, Honor, and Country.

He also received the United States Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award presented by the US Marine Corps to a cadet who is recognized as an exemplary young citizen and role model for younger students, and has best exhibited academic achievement and leadership as a high school scholar.

Josh also earned the H. R. Kelly Foreign Language Award as the cadet with the highest average in a Foreign Language—Spanish class.

Our own MAJ Gary Leydig, a former TAC Officer & current FUMA admissions counselor, traveled to Colorado to be with Josh for the event.
