The Fork Union Military Academy Quiz Bowl team capped off a successful season with a solid performance at the season finale tournament held at Virginia Commonwealth University on Saturday, April 12. Represented by cadets Joseph Athey, Niv Patel, Tyler Hill, and Chrysander Rahardjo, the team battled through a competitive field to finish the day with a 4-4 record.
While the day began with tough matchups, the team rebounded with resilience and teamwork. This tournament marked the first competition for cadets Hill and Rahardjo and served as the final tournament for seniors Athey and Patel.
Cadets Athey and Hill stood out individually, earning All-Star recognition in the Standard Division based on their strong scoring performances throughout the day. As per tournament tradition, they were awarded their All-Star honors in the form of free books, which they proudly selected to take home.
The event at VCU closed out a noteworthy season for Fork Union’s Quiz Bowl team, which finished with an impressive 17-10 overall record. Season highlights included a second-place finish at the Fall VCU Tournament and third place at the Richmond Area Independent Schools Tournament in February.
With a strong foundation and promising new talent, the team is already looking forward to building on this year’s success in the upcoming season.
