Fork Union Military Academy held its 2024 VACRAO College Fair at the Estes Athletic Center this past Thursday afternoon. The event brought together cadets from grades 11 through postgraduate and welcomed students from neighboring Fluvanna County High School, offering them the chance to meet face-to-face with representatives from nearly 40 regional and national colleges. This year’s fair continued to provide cadets with a valuable opportunity to explore post-high school options, receiving direct insight from college admissions professionals.

"This year’s College Fair at Fork Union has been one of the most engaging experiences," said a representative from Virginia Tech. "The cadets here are not only well-prepared academically, but they also show a remarkable commitment to their personal and professional development. It’s always a pleasure to speak with such focused and motivated students."

Cadets left the fair feeling inspired and informed. "It was great to learn about different career paths I hadn’t considered before," said senior Vu Tran. "Talking to the admissions officers gave me a much clearer picture of what I need to do to prepare for college."

Colleges such as James Madison University and the University of Virginia returned for another year, continuing their strong connection with Fork Union’s cadets. The Academy also welcomed two alumni back to campus: Mark Shuman, Class of 2010, now an admissions counselor for Radford University, and Xavier Frederick, Class of 2019, serving as an admissions counselor for the Virginia Military Institute.
