Fork Union Military Academy celebrated its undergraduates with its annual Undergraduate Awards ceremony Wednesday evening in the Wicker Chapel.  

Twenty awards were given out along with several scholarships and special presentations in addition to announcing Dean’s List and President’s List recipients.

E.J. Snead Algebra Award: Nhan Hoang

Awarded to the cadet with the highest average in Algebra I & Algebra II. 

A.J. Cox Geometry Award: Gregory Wells

Awarded to a 9th or 10th grade cadet with the highest average in Geometry. 

Justin Edell Math Award: Niv Patel 

Awarded to a rising senior with the best overall math scores while attending the Academy. 

Beatty Chemistry Award: Nicholas Coleman

Awarded to the undergraduate who has the highest academic average in Chemistry. 

MacDougall Environmental Science Award: Adley Angelidi 

Awarded to the freshman who has the highest academic average in Environmental Science.  

Arritt Biology Award: Destin Lamadrid-Burkett

Awarded to the 9th or 10th grade cadet with the highest academic average in Biology. 

H.R. Kelly Foreign Language Award – Spanish: Daley Adams

Awarded to the cadet who has the highest academic average in Spanish.  

H.R. Kelly Foreign Language Award – German: Miles Graybill 

Awarded to the cadet who has the highest academic average in German.  

Edgerton Music Award: Moses Rattin 

Awarded to the cadet who shows ability to guide and teach their fellow bandsmen.  

LaZizza Most Efficient Band Member: Niv Patel 

This scholarship is given to the cadet who has given countless hours to improving themselves and those around them.  

Semper Fidelis Musical Excellence Award: Joseph Athey 

Awarded to the cadet who displays the traits that the Marine Corps considers essential to be a good leader.  

Charles Goodall Snead Award: Nicholas Willis

Awarded to the rising senior who demonstrates leadership in cadet life, participates in at least two prep sports and must be a boarding student.  

Gus Lacy Spirit and Character Award: Moses Rattin

Awarded to the rising senior who distinguished himself as exemplifying the highest level of intellectual, moral, and ethical qualities to his fellow cadets.  

Greenbriar Award: Joseph Athey 

Awarded to the rising senior who will represent the Greenbriar Military Academy so that the Greenbriar spirit will live on throughout the Corps of Cadets.  

E.H. Lacy Seniority in Attendance Award: Vu Tran 

Awarded to the rising senior who has been in the most continued attendance at the Academy.  

Sojourner’s Award: Nicholas Willis 

Awarded to the cadet that encourages and demonstrates ideas of Americanism.  

K.T. Whitescarver Marine Award: Malachi Walsh

Awarded to a cadet who embodies the tributes of COL Whitescarver.  

Barker Retan Rifles Award: Destin Lamadrid-Burkett 

Awarded to the most outstanding freshman in Retan Rifles.  

Excellence in Spiritual Formation Award: Nicholas Coleman

Awarded to the cadet who excels as being a cadet chaplain.  

COL Fred Hoffman Quartermaster Award: Elijah Watson 

Awarded to the cadet who exemplifies the excellence in working with the Quartermaster.
