After considering cadet nominations, the Committee announces the Teacher of the Year.

The Academy announced the Teacher of the Year at the Undergraduate Awards ceremony Thursday afternoon.

Outside of the classroom, CAPT Black assisted with the prep football and prep lacrosse teams. At the start of the next academic year, CAPT Black will serve as the 12th President of the Academy.

CAPT Black received nominations that stated:

"CAPT Black does a great job explaining the subject, making sure everyone understands and gives anyone who doesn't understand the help they need. He takes pride in his job and goes to great lengths to make sure it's interesting to everyone. He is a great teacher overall."

"CAPT Black treats us students like we are his own. He makes sure we understand the topic and will spend extra time to make sure we know the topic. He has a lot of patience with students that struggle and is a role model to us. He gives real world and real-life advice. CAPT Black gives all of us someone to look up to when we have problems in or out of the classroom."
