On Tuesday, March 18, five juniors from Fork Union Military Academy visited Virginia Military Institute (VMI) for an immersive college tour and dining experience. The visit began with an admissions information session, providing cadets with valuable insight into the application process and academic expectations at the nation’s oldest state-supported military college.

After the session, the group enjoyed lunch in Crozet Hall, VMI’s central dining facility. A highlight of the visit was the opportunity to reconnect with Fork Union alumni currently enrolled at VMI: Scott Currey, Charlie Bost, and Pranav Puchakayala, all members of the Class of 2024. These alumni shared their experiences and offered advice, giving our cadets a first-hand look at life after Fork Union.

The afternoon continued with a guided tour of Post, including a visit to the VMI Museum, where cadets explored the Institute’s rich history and traditions.

VMI is one of five institutions with which Fork Union Military Academy holds a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), offering our seniors a clear and supported pathway to post-secondary success. Opportunities like this visit are an essential part of the Academy’s commitment to preparing cadets for the next step in their educational journey.

The College Placement Department will continue its spring college tour series with upcoming visits to the University of Richmond and James Madison University.
