Fork Union Military Academy was invited to the St. Margaret’s School Start of School Mixer this past weekend. The Academy took a group of cadets down to Tappahannock, Virginia to participate in a full day of fun.
“When we first arrived, I already knew we were going to have a good time,” said senior Jonie-Galton Ansah. “Their campus is located on the Tappahannock River which provided beautiful views and great activities. The school offered beach volleyball, kayaking, tubing and paddle boarding to name a few activities. My favorite, personally, was being able to go out and interact with other people. It was beyond refreshing to see people outside of the camo green and just be a normal teenager. Overall, it was a great day out with the guys and filled with laughter.”
St. Margaret’s School is a boarding and day school for girls in grades 8th through 12th. It’s located on a beautiful riverfront campus in an area full of historical, cultural, and natural resources.
“The mixer was such an exciting event and I enjoyed it so much,” said ninth-grader Nico Brown. “They had great activities such as boat rides, jet skiing, and so much more. It was great to go off campus for the first time this year and I cannot wait for the next one.”
The next activity scheduled is hiking Devil’s Marble Yard on Sunday, September 24.
