Fork Union Military Academy is proud to announce the recipient of the Academic Award of Excellence for Term 2, a prestigious recognition for cadets who excel in academics and demonstrate exemplary qualities in leadership, community involvement, and work ethic. This award, given each academic term, honors a cadet who has gone above and beyond expectations and made a positive impact on the school community.
The recipient of the Academic Award of Excellence is selected based on several key criteria, including a high GPA, leadership abilities, community service participation, and a strong dedication to academic success. Each term’s winner receives a special prize: a snack plan good for one month, adding an extra reward for their outstanding commitment.
For Term 2, the Academic Award of Excellence has been awarded to John Evans, a sophomore from Stafford, Virginia. John, the son of Aaron and Marie Evans, has demonstrated remarkable academic success, exemplary leadership in the Corps of Cadets, and a commitment to serving the community. His hard work, perseverance, and positive influence have earned him this distinguished recognition.
This past term, Evans achieved an extraordinary feat by earning over 100 percent in his biology class, demonstrating not only his academic ability but also his passion for learning. He undertook numerous self-directed projects, many of which he presented to his classmates or submitted to his teacher for feedback. What makes his accomplishment even more remarkable is that John pursued these projects purely for the joy of learning and applying the skills he gained in class.
Congratulations, John, on this well-deserved honor!
