Fork Union Military Academy is proud to announce that its Marching Band has been selected to participate in the Navy & Marine Corps 250 Parade Presented by Walmart on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This prestigious national event celebrates 250 years of service by the United States Navy and Marine Corps and will honor the men and women who have secured America’s independence for two and a half centuries. The parade will feature marching bands, floats, balloons, and military units, as well as young people preparing for future service, including Naval Academy midshipmen, ROTC and JROTC students, and Sea Cadets.
Fork Union’s participation highlights the Academy’s rich tradition of discipline, leadership, and patriotism. The parade will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., beginning at John F. Kennedy Boulevard and 20th Street and concluding at Independence Mall with a special Leap Frogs parachute jump.

Following the parade, the National Museum of the U.S. Navy will host the official opening of its new exhibit, “Navy 250: The Legacy,” at 100 Independence Mall at 1:30 p.m. The exhibit will feature “We Stand the Watch,” a multimedia experience celebrating 250 years of Navy history.
