Greetings from Fork Union Military Academy!
We are excited to welcome your son to Fork Union Military Academy’s Summer Academy. We look forward to greeting your son at check-in on Sunday, June 28, as we begin a summer focused on academics, personal growth, and lasting friendships.
Check-In Details
Summer Academy classes are broken into two sessions:
- Session 1 – June 28 – July 11
- Check-In Time: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- New! Location: Infirmary (Building 6 on this map)
- Parking: Please use the Pettit-Foster Lane entrance of the Academy and follow the parking signs. Parking will be located behind the Infirmary.
Families are invited to eat dinner with their summer scholar starting at 5:30 PM. A parent orientation will begin at 5 PM in the Estes Dining Hall. (Building 16 on this map)

Before Arriving to Campus
Fork Union Military Academy requires several steps to be completed prior to your arrival on campus for check-in. Please make sure you have logged into FUMA’s Parent’s Portal (FinalSite) and have completed the Enrollment Checklist.
Please ensure that your:
- "Summer Academy Sessions Contract" has been submitted
- "Summer Academy Course Interest Form" has been submitted
- "Select your 2026 Summer Academy Check In / Registration Time"
- Sunday, June 28 is 2 PM | Monday, July 13 is 9 AM
- "First or Full Session Summer Academy Deposit" has been submitted
- Review the Summer Academy "Things to Bring List"
- "Academic Calendar" has been viewed
- "Signed Final Official Transcript Request" has been submitted
- "Fork Union Honor Code" has been submitted
- "Attendance Policy/Parent Statement of Support" has been submitted
- "Authorized Adult Permission Form" has been submitted
- "Health Profile Completed on SchoolDoc" **Required prior to arriving to campus**
- "Snack and Activity Plan Selection" has been selected
- "Reviewed the Packing List for New and Returning Cadets"
- "Review the Summer Academy "Things to Bring" List" has been submitted

ACTION NEEDED! Health Forms
Fork Union Military Academy's Infirmary uses SchoolDoc to manage the required annual health forms. Please make sure you have completed your health profile before arriving to campus. You will receive an email inviting you to SchoolDoc. If you have not received this email, please contact the Infirmary at infirmary@fuma.org.
Please note that the nurses will be reviewing all health forms when you arrive on campus to check-in. Any incomplete forms, especially those that require a healthcare provider signature, may delay the check-in process. Parents will be responsible for completing these items before they can leave their cadet on campus. We cannot accept paper forms at check-in.

What to Bring
All personal items should be clearly labeled. Quantities listed are the minimum required:
- Gym shoes (may be worn to class) - Qty 2
- Blanket and pillow (standard size)
- White undershirts - Qty 8
- Under shorts - Qty 8
- White socks (at least ankle height) - Qty 8
- Towels and washcloths, white - Qty 2
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, razor/shaving cream)
- Shower shoes
- Swimsuit
- Straight broom and dustpan
- Glass cleaner, paper towels, disinfectant wipes
- Calculator (for math or science)
- Aanalog watch - no smart watches allowed
- Reloadable VISA/Debit Card for personal purchases
- Master lock with combination
- Optional: basketball, baseball glove, lacrosse stick, racquetball or tennis racquet
