- Parent’s Weekend Update: The parade has been rescheduled to Friday, October 10, at 6:30 PM on Fraley Circle. Attendance is mandatory for all cadets. Day Students are not required to attend events on Sunday, October 12.
- Contraband Reminder: Please review the Contraband List and ensure that none of these items are brought to school.
- Saturday Class Day Coming Up: Term 2's Saturday Class is scheduled for Saturday, November 1.
DAY STUDENT REMINDERS:
- Arrival & Sign-In: Day Students must sign in at the Commandant’s Department by 7:15 AM daily.
- Uniform: The uniform of the day for class days is Class B Summer.
- Absences & Tardies: If your Day Student will be absent or late, please email absent@fuma.org with full details.

We are pleased to recommend Kristin Firewicz Studios to our cadet families for senior and cadet portraits. Kristin is a professional photographer contracted by the Academy to capture campus photos throughout the year and has been specializing in high school senior photography for over 10 years. Based right here in Fork Union, Kristin also has a studio conveniently located on campus.

PG FOOTBALL LEAVE UPDATE
PG Football will not participate in this weekend’s leave (Sept. 19–21) due to their away game at Bridgewater College. Players may use day passes after practice on Friday (5:00 PM) and Saturday (2:00 PM), with return by 9:00 PM each night.
Looking ahead:
- Parent’s Weekend (Oct. 10–12): Players are excused from events due to the Wagner College game in New York. Leave is permitted after the game or upon return to campus; return by Sunday at 7:00 PM.
- Special Leave Weekend: A make-up leave weekend has been approved for Oct. 24–26.
Parents should submit requests through the Orah Parent Portal. Please note that the Academy does not provide shuttle transportation for leave weekends.
ORAH PARENT PORTAL REMINDER
All parents are required to use the Orah Parent Portal to submit requests for all Day Passes and Leave Requests any time their boarding student needs to depart campus for personal reasons.
If a cadet would like to leave campus with a fellow cadet, both sets of parents must provide permission in Orah before the leave can be approved.

Important Reminders for Packages:
- When sending packages through Walmart, Amazon, or other carriers, please ensure that packages are delivered directly to the Quartermaster (QM).
- Carriers should not leave packages around campus.
- All packages must be clearly labeled with your cadet’s full name and company.

- The next SAT date is October 4; the registration deadline has passed.
- The November SAT date is November 8; the registration deadline is October 24.

- Cadets will be able to depart campus for the weekend starting Friday, October 3 at 4:30 PM and must return by Sunday, October 5 at 7 PM. This is not a mandatory leave.
- SAT Test | October 4, 2025
- The October SAT Test will be administered on campus. The deadline to register has passed.
- Term 2 Begins | October 7, 2025
- Term 2 of the Academic Year starts on Tuesday, October 7. Term 1 Exams are Monday, October 6.
- Parents's Weekend | October 10-12, 2025
- Parent's Weekend is set for Friday, October 10-Sunday, October 12. The weekend is filled with exciting events, including the first parade of the season on Sunday at 1:30 PM. Please note, this is a closed weekend for cadets. Register for the weekend here.
- Open House for Admissions | October 13, 2025
- Do you know anyone who would benefit from a Fork Union Military Academy education? Please recommend them to join us at an Open House. On Monday, October 13, Fork Union Admissions will host prospective families for an Open House. Register here.
- 250th Navy & Marines Corps Parade | October 13, 2025
- The Fork Union Military Academy Band is set to participate in the 250th Navy & Marines Homecoming Parade on Monday, October 13 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Located on John F. Kennedy Boulevard & 20th Street to 520 Chestnut Street, the two-hour parade will begin at 11 AM. The parade will be aired on ABC6.
- Founder's Day/Day of Giving | October 15, 2025
- Join us as we celebrate Founder’s Day with our annual Day of Giving on Wednesday, October 15, 2025! This special day kicks off our effort to reach our $2.2 million fundraising goal for the academic year. Every gift makes a difference. - Winning Company Leave Weekend | Friday, October 17-Sunday, October 19, 2025
- Cadets who are in the Winning Company for Term 1 will be able to depart campus for the weekend starting Friday, October 17 at 4:30 PM and must return by Sunday, October 19at 7 PM.
- Exemplary Conduct Dinner for Term 1 | October 20, 2025
- Cadets who earn Exemplary Conduct for Term 1 will be rewarded with a special dinner in the Dining Hall at 5 PM on Monday, October 20.
- Picture Day | October 23, 2025
- JostensPix will be on campus Thursday, October 23 for Yearbook Portraits from 8 AM to 2 PM.

- Cadets will be able to depart campus for the weekend starting Friday, October 24 at 4:30 PM and must return by Sunday, October 26at 7 PM. This is not a mandatory leave.
- Trunk or Treat | October 31, 2025
- Fork Union Military Academy will host a Trunk or Treat for its cadets on Fraley Circle on Friday, October 31 from 6 PM to 7 PM. The Parent's Association will be reaching out to parents to see if you are interested in participating in the fun. If you would like to have a trunk, please email mccoyl@fuma.org.
- Saturday Class Day | November 1, 2025
- All cadets are expected to be in class on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Day Students must sign in by 0815.
