Mr. BJ York and Fork Union's Commandant's Department work tirelessly each week to provide a fun atmosphere for the cadets. Below are this weekend's activities.
Each year, Fork Union Military Academy hosts a special Veteran's Day Ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial on campus. We are inviting all parents and the community to attend! The ceremony will start at 11 AM. Below is the schedule for the day:
The Uniform of the Day will be DCUs.
On Friday, November 18, all cadets are required to leave campus for Thanksgiving Break. If you know your Thanksgiving plans now, please submit your cadet's Leave Request as soon as possible. If your cadet will need FUMA transportation to leave/return to campus for Thanksgiving Break, please submit your travel requests to Mr. BJ York no later than Nov. 4 (TODAY). Mr. York needs at least two weeks to plan for major holiday breaks. If travel requests are submitted after Nov. 4, there will be a $10 per day late fee.

Fork Union's staff and Explorica will team up later this school year to take a trip to Italy in March of 2023. Regina Delman and CPT Michael Head will supervise cadets on a tour of Milan, Venice, Verona, Florence, and Rome all between March 10-March 17, 2023.

It is time to order your cadet's class ring! A class ring captures the memories of the greatest days of your son's high school years. A custom ring designed exclusively for Fork Union Military Academy is available to all juniors and seniors. Rings will be presented at a Ring Ceremony in the spring where parents will be invited to. A representative from Jostens will be set up in the dining hall during the lunch periods on Tuesday, November 8 and can personally size your cadet's finger to make sure he receives the right fit. He will also be able to fill out the form for ordering the ring which will be held until you can send in payment for Jostens. The holiday trips are booking quickly! Please email Mr. BJ York to sign your son up for an exciting trip to the Outer Banks during Thanksgiving or Disney World during Spring Break!
This year, the Academy is offering exciting trips during the Thanksgiving and Spring Break Major Leaves. We understand that traveling home for a short leave can be frustrating and tiresome. Below are trips that we believe would be a great opportunity for your sons. All of the trips will be fully chaperoned by FUMA staff and faculty. The fees for the trips will cover all lodging on-site (FUMA) and off-site, transportation to and from each location, and all food and drinks (three meals per day). Not included in the fees would be any souvenirs or any food and drink outside of regular meals. We recommend that your son bring a credit card for any extra items he may wish to purchase.

Following a very successful Day of Giving on Founder's Day weekend, Fork Union Military Academy announced the start of the public phase of a fund-raising campaign, "125 for the 125th," in honor of the school's 125th anniversary, which will be observed the weekend of October 13-15, 2023.

Ms. Rhonda White, Fork Union's Coordinator of Assessments & Student Records, is offering something special to parents if they would like to celebrate their cadet's birthday at FUMA if it falls during the school year. It's time to schedule your son's portraits! We are please to be able to recommend Kristin Firewicz Studios to our cadet families! Kristin is a professional photographer contracted by the Academy to take campus photos throughout the year and have been specializing in high school senior photography for 10 years. Kristin is local to Fork Union and has a studio on campus. Here is the link for the Tennessee carpool list. This list will enable you to make travel arrangements with other families in your area. Please update this document with your contact information if you are willing to ride share or would like to make similar travel plans with other Fork Union families, then use the contact information added by others to coordinate with them directly.
