Fork Union Band Performance Schedule Through Thanksgiving Break

Dear Parents,

I’m excited to share the upcoming performance schedule for the Fork Union Military Academy Band. Our cadets have been working hard, and these events are a wonderful opportunity for you to see their growth and commitment.

Fall 2025 Parade Schedule

Fork Union Day Parade
Date: Saturday, September 20th
Time: Parade begins at 9:30 AM
Location: Fork Union, VA – James Madison Highway (in front of campus)

• Families are welcome to bring chairs and sit in the field between the dorms and James Madison Highway for the best view.
• Vendors and town activities will begin at 10:00 AM right by campus.
• The FUMA Band is honored to lead off this parade.

Parent's Weekend Parade
Date: Sunday, October 12th
Time: Parade begins at 1:30 PM
Location: On campus – Pass in Review for Parent's Weekend

• This parade is designed especially for you, our parents, and will highlight how much your cadets have grown in just eight weeks.
• The weekend will include many events coordinated by our development team—you will receive full details from them soon.

Philadelphia Trip – U.S. Navy 250th Birthday Parade
Date: Monday, October 13th
Location: Philadelphia, PA

• The band will travel directly from the Parents Weekend Parade to Philadelphia. Please note: cadets attending this trip will not be available for dinner or other activities after the Sunday parade.
• This historic parade will be televised and streamed live (YouTube Live and other stations). We will share viewing links and channels as soon as they are confirmed.
• While you are welcome to travel, I strongly encourage parents to prioritize attending the on-campus Parents Weekend events and then enjoy watching the Philadelphia performance from home.

Gordonsville Veterans Day Parade
Date: Saturday, November 8th
Time: Parade typically begins at 11:00 AM
Location: Gordonsville, VA

• This is a meaningful, smaller community parade to honor local veterans.
• Final timing details will be confirmed closer to the date.

After the Gordonsville parade, there are no further scheduled on- or off-campus band parades until after Thanksgiving Break. (Parents of Honors Band members will receive a separate schedule with those details.)

As always, if you have any questions, whether or not I’ve already sent the information, I encourage you to reach out to me directly. Don't worry about digging through emails to find the answers. I would much rather you ask a question than be unsure!
