Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you well! Below is your weekly update from Fork Union Military Academy. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Day Student families, please mark your calendars for these upcoming mandatory Saturdays:
Saturday, October 10 – Parade Day
All Day Students must be on campus by 9:00 AM. Cadets are welcome to have breakfast on campus if they arrive by 7:30 AM.
Saturday, November 14 – Saturday Class Day
This is a mandatory class day for all cadets, including Day Students.
Please plan accordingly to ensure your cadet is on campus and ready for both required dates.
Reminder: As cadets transition into the Class B uniform for the daily class schedule, Day Students are reminded to keep all issued uniform items in their barracks rooms so they can access them as needed throughout the week.
The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered beginning October 21 for all identified junior cadets. Fork Union requires all juniors to take the PSAT, and the College Placement Department will complete registration for each cadet.
Testing will begin at 8:45 AM and will last approximately 2 hours and 14 minutes. Cadets will miss their morning class to complete the exam.
The PSAT provides valuable practice for future SAT administrations by helping cadets become familiar with the testing environment, format, and structure. PSAT scores are not submitted to colleges and universities as part of the college application process. Scores are expected to be released after Thanksgiving, at which time the College Placement Department will email score reports to cadets and their families.
Preparing for the PSAT: Junior cadets are encouraged to use their Fork Union-provided PrepScholar account to prepare. There is no additional cost to families for this resource.
To access PrepScholar, visit PrepScholar's Digital SAT sign-in page. Cadets who have not yet created their account should select the password-recovery option and use their FUMA email address to receive instructions for setting up their password.
It’s time for the Classes of 2027 and 2028 to order their Fork Union Military Academy class rings! The class ring is a longstanding Academy tradition, with rings presented to cadets during the Ring Ceremony in February.
Jostens representatives will be on campus to assist cadets with ordering and sizing on the following dates:
Thanks to the generosity of Bremo House and the Marty Ledbetter ’86 Benevolent Ring Fund, each cadet will receive a $200 contribution toward the cost of his class ring.
Cadets should bring a $50 down payment when ordering. Cadets without the down payment may still complete an order form, which will be held until payment is received.
View the Class Ring Flyer for ring options, pricing and additional information.
Mark your calendars for Friday, October 30, as Fork Union hosts its annual Trunk or Treat for our cadets!
This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our Parents Association, and there are two ways families can help: sign up to decorate a trunk and participate in the event or donate candy for our cadets to enjoy.
Interested in helping? Please contact Parents Association representative LTC Vashon Hubert at hubertv@fuma.org.
Thank you for helping us make this a fun and memorable night for our cadets!
This October, the Fork Union community is coming together for a special 100 Gifts in 100 Hours challenge in celebration of our annual Day of Giving!
Beginning Monday, October 12 at 8:00 AM and continuing through Friday, October 16 at 12:00 PM, our goal is simple: inspire 100 gifts in 100 hours in support of Fork Union Military Academy.
Every gift, no matter the size, moves us one step closer to 100 and helps support the people, programs, and experiences that make a Fork Union education possible.
Parents and families are an important part of the Fork Union community, and we hope you’ll join alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the Academy in helping us reach our goal of 100 Gifts. 100 Hours. One Fork Union.
More information, including how to participate, will be shared as we get closer to October 12.

If you need to contact your cadet's Student Development Officer, please use the email addresses listed below. Student Development Officers are to support communication between cadets, parents, and teachers. They serve as an important point of contact for families and can help answer questions, provide guidance, and support your cadet throughout the year.
Families MUST use the following addresses below when sending mail and packages to their cadet.
Please be sure to use your cadet's full first and last name and include his company name. We have received several packages addressed with nicknames, initials, or incomplete names, which makes it difficult for staff to identify the correct cadet and may delay delivery.
