Get Ready for Check-In this Monday at Fork Union Military Academy

Your August 11 Check-In Details & Reminders:

Dear Parents, 

We are looking forward to welcoming you and your cadet to Fork Union Military Academy this Monday, August 11 for the first official check-in of the 2025-2026 Academic Year. This check-in is for all football players (grades 7-12 and postgraduates) and those participating in Cadet Leadership Training. 

Please review the important reminders below to help ensure a smooth arrival and transition to campus:

Where to Go:

Please arrive for your appointment time that you have selected in the FUMA Parent's Portal and park in the grass lot between Jacobson Hall and James Madison HWY (Rt. 15). 

Parking attendants and coaches will be there to greet you and direct you to the check-in area. 

Arrival Attire for Cadets:

  • Cadets in Grades 7-12 should arrive in their PT uniform that has been sent in the mail.
    • If you have not received your PT uniform, please arrive in a polo and khakis. 
  • Postgraduate football players should arrive to campus in a polo and khakis. 
  • Cadet Leadership Training should arrive to campus in their PT uniform. 

Before Arriving to Campus:

Before arriving, please make sure you have logged into FUMA’s Parent’s Portal and have completed the Enrollment Checklist.   

Please ensure that your: 

  1. "2025-2026 Enrollment Contract" has been signed and submitted
  2. "FACTS Tuition Management Account" has been setup
  3. "2025 Check-In / Registration Time" has been selected
  4. "Academic Calendar" has been viewed
  5. "Health Profile on SchoolDoc" has been completed (all SchoolDoc invitations have been sent - if you need your SchoolDoc invitation, please contact the Infirmary at infirmary@fuma.org)
  6. "Attendance Policy/Parent Statement of Support" has been submitted
  7. "Adult Permission Form" has been authorized
  8. "Athletic Sign Up Form" has been submitted
  9. "Fork Union Honor Code" has been submitted
  10. "Snack & Activity Plan" has been selected
  11. "Packing List for New & Returning Cadets" has been reviewed

Health Forms Reminder:

All health records must be submitted via SchoolDoc. Incomplete or missing forms may delay your check-in process. For all school and health related questions, please contact the Infirmary at 434-842-4310 or infirmary@fuma.org.

Hair Cuts:

Cadets should arrive clean-shaven with a regulation haircut. Hair must be no longer than 1 inch on top, with tapered sides. 

Need a haircut on campus? We can help arrange it at check-in with our on-campus barber. 

Important Dates: 

  • Cadets must remain on campus after check-in. 
  • First day of class: Thursday, August 21
  • Saturday, August 23 is a class day and attendance is required.
