Now that we are back from our Thanksgiving break and entering December that means we are also entering… financial aid season for the 2023-2024 school year.
We receive on average 550 to 600 new applications for admission each year. As these new applications from prospective students for the 2023-2024 school year are beginning to roll in, we want to make sure that we do our very best to support our current families first.
Here are some important deadlines and discounts to keep in mind:
We are asking all current families to submit their Financial Aid Application for the 2023-2024 school year no later than 31 December 2022. You will need your 2021 tax forms to complete your financial aid application, and we will waive the 2022 W-2 requirement until 31 January 2023.
This will help us keep our current FUMA families at the head of the line in the financial aid process for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Academy will again offer our current FUMA families an early enrollment discount. Families that complete the enrollment agreement for their cadet and pay their $3,000 registration fee prior to Friday, 03 March 2023 will receive a $1,000 discount which will be applied as a financial aid grant to your 2023-2024 FACTS tuition account.
The enrollment agreement for the 2023-2024 school year will become available in your School Admin account on Monday, 02 January 2024.
Please remember that if your family is receiving financial aid, you must first have your financial aid package completed so that your financial aid award is accurately reflected in your enrollment agreement prior to signing your agreement and paying your $3,000 registration fee. This is why it is important that you submit your financial aid application prior to the deadline of 31 December 2022.
As you complete your enrollment agreement, don’t miss out on the Tuition Protection Plan for the 2023-2024 school year. There are a variety of reasons why a student might leave school during an academic year, such as due to an injury or illness, academic difficulties, financial issues, or disciplinary dismissal. The Tuition Protection Plan is a way to help protect you from the economic impact of many such unforeseen withdrawals or dismissals.
The cost of TPP is $1,000 for the 2023-2024 school year and must be paid prior to your cadet’s arrival on campus.
In addition, as you set up your tuition account, FACTS Tuition Management offers a “Peace of Mind” program that covers the cost of your tuition in the event of a death of a parent or legal guardian financially responsible for the student’s account. This program is offered by FACTS Tuition Management, not Fork Union Military Academy, but is another good option to consider to protect your son’s academic development and your family’s economic health.
The re-enrollment deadline for the 2023-2024 school year is Sunday, 30 April 2023.
Any family choosing a monthly payment plan must have their 2023-2024 FACTS payment account created no later than Sunday, 30 April 2023. Again, this year, we will be offering a 12-month payment plan that begins in May 2023 and runs through April 2024 to help keep monthly payment amounts as low as possible for our families. If you wait too long to set up your payment plan, you might reduce the number of months across which your payments can spread. All accounts must be paid in full by 30 April 2024.
For the 2023-2024 school year, any family who pays their FACTS account balance, 100% in full, prior to their cadet’s arrival on campus for Fall check-in will receive a $1,000 credit on their account that will help to offset incidental and transportation costs.
You can be creative. Want to set up a payment plan for May 2023 through August 2023 to pay the entire balance? You can do that. Want to pay in one lump sum by using a student loan? This works, too.
