Studio Art

--Offered for Grades 9 and Above --

Primary goal is the development of an awareness and appreciation of the visual experience and of the limitless possibilities for creating art in a studio setting. The Studio Art curriculum is based largely on a conscious growth of visual experiences and the development of seeing, understanding, assessing, and admiring historical works of art. Studio exercises and lectures consider two and three-dimensional creations. Techniques covered in this course include, but are not limited to, graphite and charcoal drawing/sketching, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, tempera resist, wax resist, clay, mosaicking, and collage.
