Peter came to Fork Union after serious struggles with online learning due to COVID during his freshman year at public school. We knew we could not let our brilliant boy fail simply because he needed in-person engagement. At first, the adjustment was a struggle, but soon Peter not only stepped up, but embraced his education at FUMA and has gotten great grades and achieved several personal goals for himself. I have watched FUMA mature this boy into an amazing young man with a sense of personal responsibility, drive, and ambition. He wants to finish out his remaining years, and has even discussed going into the military after he gets out. He is working to achieve rank for next year, so when he graduates he will have had the experience of being an officer. Peter has also loved being a shining star on campus and is proud to be the school bugler, so much that he has decided he will be playing morning colors and evening retreat at home all summer. (Oh boy)
