FORK UNION, VA – Fork Union Military Academy has named Seth Wilson as the head coach of the Postgraduate Basketball Program, the Academy announced Monday. Wilson has replaced longtime basketball coach Matt Donohue, who resigned for personal reasons last week.
Wilson is no stranger to the program as he spent 18 months as an athletic intern and PG basketball assistant from January 2013 to July 2014. He returned to the Academy this past January to teach leadership after six years at the Covenant School in Charlottesville, Va., where he was a physical education teacher, head varsity football coach and head boy's junior varsity basketball coach.
While at Covenant, Wilson was named 2018 Central Virginia Coach of the Year, 2018 VISFL Coach of the Year, 2017 Virginia Independent Conference Coach of the Year and two-time Falcon Club Private School Coach of the Year. Wilson led his football team to back-to-back undefeated state championships in 2018 and 2019, while accumulating a 27-2 career record in three seasons.
Wilson is the owner and CEO of Growth Training, LLC in Charlottesville, where he offers individual and small group training for aspiring basketball players, sport-specific and physical education-themed programs, and leadership consulting to the Central Virginia area as he has 14 years of basketball coaching experience.
A graduate of The University of Georgia, Wilson earned a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management. During his time at UGA, he worked as a student manager for the women's basketball program, volunteered as a youth football coach, and spent three years as a basketball development instructor for the Atlanta Hawks.
