Dean Hall, the head wrestling coach of Fork Union Military Academy, has been selected to serve as the Virginia Representative on the National Prep School Wrestling Board, the governing body for national independent school wrestling. Previously, Coach Hall was elected the Chairman of the Wrestling Executive Committee of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA), the state governing body for independent school wrestling in Virginia.
In an email announcing Coach Hall's selection, the National Prep School Wrestling Board said, "It is a logical choice for us as Dean is serving in that capacity now as the VISAA Chair. This will assist us in streamlining outward communication about decisions the Board is making in the off-season as it relates to growth of the National Prep School Network and the venue for the 2022 Championships."
Dean Hall has been on the faculty of Fork Union Military Academy since the 2016-2017 school year, teaching English, History, Sociology, Study Skills and Government. He is a graduate from Longwood University with a degree in Physical Education, Teaching and Coaching, and later received a B.S. in Sociology from Averett University. Hall also has a master’s degree in Adult and Continuing Education Administration from the University of Phoenix. Hall has been named Coach of the Year four times at the Academy, including two such recognitions from the VISAA and was named the 2019-20 All Central Virginia’s Coach of the Year.
