Fork Union Military Academy's campus is a piece of history. The iconic buildings, Hatcher Hall and Wicker Chapel, to name a couple, are landmarks we want to preserve so the next generation of boys understand our past. As an institution we also want to prepare for the future, always changing and adapting to new technologies and upgrading to modern efficiencies. Remembering the past and preserving our historic buildings is valuable to our community, but balancing that with current and modern facilities is at least as important, if not more so – especially to be financially sound.
Fork Union Military Academy is in the process of devoting money to upgrade old infrastructure. The vintage steam boiler system that heats buildings such as Hatcher Hall along with the restoration of the Wicker Planetarium roof are a couple of projects that are not "wants" but immediate "needs". We will restore these buildings so they will provide the same experiences that past cadets cherish but the financial commitment is significant to our operating budget.
If you are interested in contributing to Fork Union Military Academy so we can restore and upgrade our infrastructure, please contact the FUMA Advancement Office. We would love to explain the details of improving our beautiful campus.
Fork Union Military Academy is a historic site but it is also a pathway to the future. As a community we want to partner together so the past is restored and Fork Union Military Academy is advancing for the next generation.
