MILITARY BALL 2008

Information Sheet for Military Ball Weekend

REGISTRATION:  Cadets planning to attend the Military Ball will register with members of the Quadrille Club after Spring vacation.  See instructions below pertaining to grade qualifications for the Ball and Overnight. 

COST:  $50 per couple.  This will be taken out of the cadets’ allowance accounts.  The cost will include: admission into the Ball, corsage, and keepsake gifts for the cadet and his date.  There will be no charge for the parents.  Deadline for registration is April 14th.  If a cadet is unable to attend, a refund will be provided prior to April 14th. 

QUALIFICATIONS/OVERNIGHT:  Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors and Postgraduates are eligible to attend the Ball and are eligible for an overnight pass.  Cadets on Probation are eligible to attend the ball but are not­ authorized an overnight. The deadline for demerit accumulation will be Friday, April 18th.   An adult over the age of 21 may sign out the cadet and one additional cadet for the overnight.  Cadets signing out with the parent of another cadet must have written permission and an invitation on file.  Written permission and the invitation must be in the leave office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23rd.  

Cadets traveling by limousine must be dropped off and picked up in the rear of the Estes Dining Hall.  Entrance to the parking lot is on Rt. 15 across from the Fork Union Post Office.  The adult signing the cadet(s) out for the night must ride in the limousine to their destination.

THEME:   “A Black & White Affair”            

GIFTS:  Cadets will pick up keepsake gifts from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday April 25th in the rear of the Commandants Department, and/or as directed by the Quadrille Club.  Corsages will be distributed during check-in at the Ball.

DRESS:  Cadets will wear white ducks, white long-sleeve shirt, battle-jacket, and black bow tie.  Hats will NOT be worn.  A cadet can pick up a bow tie at the Quartermaster.  Only officers will be permitted to wear coatees.  Dates formal dresses are to be presentable.  Parents’ wear is formal attire.  Cadets will not be permitted at the Ball unless in the proper uniform.

PICTURES:  Pictures will be taken in the Middle School Courtyard prior to the Ball from 5:00 p.m. until dark.  At such time pictures will be taken in the Library.  In the event of rain, all pictures will be taken in the Library.  Payment for all picture packets will be taken from your allowance account.

Package A    $70 (inc. 2- 8x10; 4-5x7; 4- 3x5; 36 2x3)                

Package B    $60 (inc. 2- 8x10; 2-5x7; 4- 3x5; 32 2x3)                

Package C    $50  (inc. 2- 8x10;2-5x7; 4-3x5;  28 2x3)

Package D    $10/person (inc. 1-5x7, 4- 2x3-3 person minimum)

Package E    $40  (inc. 2-5x7; 4- 3x5; 24 2x3)

Package F    $30  (inc. 4-3x5; 20 2x3)

Package G   $15   (inc. 4- 3x5)

Package H   $20   (inc. 1-8x10)

Package I     $20   (inc. 2- 5x7)

Package Add-On $12 for 12 2x3  

If you choose Package A or Package B, there is a “Special Bonus” of a 2nd pose free in black and white with two 5x7s and 4 2x3 wallets.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

   11:00 am –  Day passes begin

   5:00 until dark – Pictures taken outside (weather permitting)

   7:00 pm –  All cadets attending the Ball must be checked in at the Dining Hall

   7:30 to 9:00 Inside pictures taken

   7:00 to 11:00 Military Ball (food will be served at the Ball)

   8:30 to 9:15 Introduction of Seniors and their dates through Arch of Sabres

   11:00 Check out for overnight with Parents/Adult begins at the Dining Hall

  11:10 to 12:00 Clean up / set up

  11:15 Cadets attending the Ball, not going on the over night, must be in their room.

   11:30 Lights out for cadets attending the Ball not going on the overnight

Sunday April 27th, 2008

   1:00 p.m. All cadets checked in from overnight and day pass.

   1:30 p.m. All cadets in their rooms.

   2:30 First Call for the parade.
