FUMA’s Post-Graduate football team defeated Newberry College’s JV team 40-6 on Friday Sept. 24th. The offense was paced by QB Adam LaFleur’s four TD passes: one was a 15 yard strike to WR Tyrek Cheeseboro, WR Ricarlo Bell scored on scoring strikes of 48 yards and seven yards and WR Justin Lord snagged a 15 yarder in the 4th quarter. LaFleur passed, in all, for 151 yards and also added a 2pt. conversion pass to WR Montario Hunter. QB Dustin Paonessa started the scoring with a five-yard TD pass to WR Justin Lord. Paonessa was very efficient as he completed 7-11 passes for 102 yards on the afternoon. RB/S/K Michael Arnold led all RB’s with 10 carries for 61 yards including an eight-yard rushing TD. Arnold also added one reception for 15 yards.

FUMA’s defense was led by defensive player of the game LB Brodie Preston who forced two fumbles, returned an interception 27 yards, registered a QB sack and he accounted for 9 total tackles (two for loss). Safety Kyrel Latimer chipped in with 8 tackles and two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Safety Brison Williams contributed a blocked punt to go along with his two PBU’s and 7 tackles. LB Sage Harold added an INT to go along with his 10 tackles of which four were for a loss. LB Logan Terrell chipped in with 7 tackles of his own and a fumble recovery. DB Aaron Sye had two PBU’s 6 tackles, and interception along with a 2 pt. conversion reception. LB Justin Hughes contributed a fumble recovery, 8 tackles and he accounted for another one of FUMA’s six QB sacks.

FUMA will be in action again this Sunday October 3rd as Gattaca will visit Fork Union, VA for a 1:30 afternoon contest.
