Capt. Pav's Blog Intro

Welcome to the Echo Company Blog

This is the first edition of the Echo Company Blog. Let me take a moment to introduce myself and what I plan to accomplish by writing this blog.

I am Cpt Pavlansky, TAC Officer of Echo Company. I have been working at FUMA since Spring of 2000. I am an alumnus of FUMA, having attended FUMA for 4 years. As a Freshman, I was learning my way around FUMA and it’s shocking new lifestyle. When I was a Sophomore, I was promoted 4 times. By my Junior year I was Lieutenant for a month and got selected to be the Command Sergeant Major of Fork Union, a huge promotion within Fork Union. During my senior year I served as Battalion Executive Officer. I lived at FUMA; I know FUMA; as you can see, I’m a byproduct of FUMA. I not only survived in FUMA, but thrived in FUMA. I came in thinking I was a man, I graduated knowing I was a man. My goal is to help your son not only survive at FUMA, but to thrive at FUMA. My goal is to help your son turn into the man you want him to be, the man I know he can be.

The purpose of this blog is to update you on Echo company events, to give you reassurance about your boys, as well as to give you some insight as to how I run my company.

I am your son’s father-away-from home, his counselor, his spiritual mentor, and also his judge, jury and executioner. I treat every boy fairly, listen to his side of the story, and reprimand or punish as I deem fit. Not every punishment may result in a demerit, his punishment may be waxing the floors, cleaning the bathrooms, or doing push-ups.

My blog will not have the same structure every time. Some days I may discuss Echo’s successes or issues. Some days I may interview a cadet and post his answers. Some days you might read my rants & raves. Some days you might read about my views & insights. Some days I may inform you on objectives I’ve given the boys to focus on for the week, and provide you with my expectations around those objectives. Some days I may give you updates and reminders on upcoming events at FUMA. Whatever it is, it’ll provide you with information and probably some entertainment.

Please feel free to leave comments or email me directly. I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.
