FUMA Orienteering competes at Sycamore Scramble

The FUMA Orienteering Team competed at the Sycamore Scramble, a two day event in Raleigh, NC. Senior Co-Captain Adam Welsh placed 3rd on a collegiate level course. Cannon McIlnay took 2nd on the high school advanced level course. At the intermediate level, freshman Kevin McCartney and senior, Brian Coenen, got to the medal stand in their categories.

At the novice level, 6th grader Sim Brand, and sophomore Lewis Raymond achieved a 2nd and 3rd place finish in their categories. In an ad hoc team competition, Glen Grigsby, Kevin McCartney, Brian Coenen, and Cannon McIlnay composed a team (ironically named “Team Fat and Sassy”) that took first place in the junior team competition.
