Plans for Registration Day
Greetings! I hope that this entry finds you and your family enjoying the summer. I find it hard to believe that it is almost over. The school year is right around the corner, so I thought I would touch base with a few things to make sure that the opening day runs as smoothly as possible. Below is information related to check-in: Wed., August 26, from 1 PM - 3 PM, Cadet Leader Candidates register in the Hatcher Hall Lobby Mon., August 31, from 8 AM - 11:30 AM, New Cadets register in the Estes Dining Hall Thu., September 3, from 8 AM - 11:30 AM, Returning Cadets register in the Hatcher Hall Lobby After registering with the Admissions Office and Business Office, you should then report with your son to the Yeatman Infirmary. Upon leaving the Infirmary, you will need to report to the Middle School to register with Mrs. Pam Haislip, the Middle School's Administrative Assistant, where more paperwork will need to be completed and a room assignment for your son will be given. You can expedite the process described above by making sure the following items have been completed: - Your son's physical exam. In fact, your son cannot be admitted until the Academy's physical exam form has been completed by a physician and returned to us. - The enrollment (or re-enrollment) agreement form. This form needs to be submitted to the Admissions Department along with the required payment. - All returning cadets should report to school with a haircut and in uniform (Class "A" summer). FOR PARENTS OF NEW CADETS - Following your meeting with Mrs. Haislip, your son will be taken to the Quartermaster by one of our cadets, where he will receive all of his uniform items and other essentials. You, meanwhile, will be able to enjoy a snack at our Dining Hall, buy any needed supplies that were forgotten, or just visit with the parents of other cadets. Please make sure that you provide your son a list of items that you purchased at home (e.g. towels, underwear, etc.) so that when he reports to the Quartermaster he will not be issued duplicates. - A welcoming meeting will be held in the Wicker Chapel with the President of the Academy, Lt.Gen. John Jackson, at 1:00 PM, followed by a Parent Orientation session that will last until approximately 4:00 PM. We look forward to seeing you in just a few short weeks.
