Honors Spanish students visit Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

Honors Spanish III and IV students, accompanied by their instructors LTC Ed Moore and Mrs. Rebecca Smith, had the opportunity to survey Hispanic Art at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA on Wednesday, May 6, as an extension of their recent studies. Ms. Nycle Prada-Myers, docent from the VMFA, led the tour speaking exclusively in Spanish. Students had the opportunity to compare and contrast three Picasso paintings in addition to viewing contemporary African-American art, an internationally renowned silver collection, Faberge eggs, Degas sculptures, and several other museum pieces. Although the museum is currently undergoing extensive renovation, the trip was highly valuable and provided a culminating experience for this term's activities.
