FUMA PG Football at University of Kentucky
Fork Union fell to University of Kentucky's JV team 55-28 on a cold afternoon at Commonwealth Stadium. FUMA was led on offense by QB Nick Owens' 155 yards and two TD's. QB Jeff Legree completed five out of nine pass attempts, but he did most of his damage on the ground adding 10 carries for 64 yards and one rushing TD. The WR corps was led by Deon Miller's five catches for 48 yards and one of those coming on a 22 yard scoring strike from QB Nick Owens. WR Jeremiah Maglero added 3 catches for 24 yards, WR D.J. Coles had 2 catches for 44 yards, and WR Darrien Burch produced his best game of the year with 2 catches for 46 yards and one TD. Burch ended the day with 205 all-purpose yards.
The defense held tight, but a few costly penalties negating a 4th down goaline stand and a 46 yard fumble return for a TD by DB Kameron Scott; proved to be momentum changing. LB Bill Romanow and LB Troy Russell led the team in tackles with six apiece and one TFL. DL Donte Rumph added 3 tackles, 1 QB sack, and 2 TFL's to lead the defensive line. QB Sacks were also recorded by Zack Kerr, Alex Johnson, Jonathon Sharp, and Tony Owah. LB Jordan Rigby contributed a solo tackle and a fumble recovery. LB Jonathon Sharp also recorded 3 solo tackles and one TFL.
The Post-Graduate football team will have one last opportunity to showcase their talents on Tuesday December 9th in FUMA's annual "Football Extravaganza."
