Honor Graduates 2008
Fork Union Military Academy will hold its graduation ceremony for seniors and postgraduates on Saturday, May 24th at 10:30 a.m. in Fork Union, VA. The Class of 2008 has 12 young men graduating with honors this year. The Academy congratulates each of them their their hard work and wishes the entire class much success in their future.
The honor graduates are as follows:
Sean Thomas Floyd (Valedictorian) is the son of Alicia Freeman and John Floyd of Fredericksburg, VA. Sean has been in attendance for 4 years and had accumulated a grade point average of 4.600. He will attend Georgia Tech this fall.
Brian Thomas Zitterkopf (Salutatorian) is the son of Mr. Tim and Captain Joan Platz of Pace, Florida. Brian has been in attendance for 5 years, was Salutatorian of the Middle School in 2004, and has accumulated a grade point average of 4.211. He plans to attend the United States Naval Academy this fall.
Jeremy Scott Haney is the son of Captain Brian Haney and Rose Brogan of Palmyra, Virginia. Jeremy has been in attendance for 2 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 4.080. He plans to attend the United States Naval Academy this fall.
Timothy Alan Brown is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brown of Washington, DC. Tim has been in attendance for 6 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 4.000. He plans to attend Virginia Tech this fall.
Christopher Cuby Mills is the son of Sam and Wendy Mills of White Plains, Va. Christopher has been in attendance for 3 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 3.987. He plans to attend University of North Carolina-Wilmington this fall.
Meng-Lin Hsieh is the son of Mr. William Hsieh of Taipei, Taiwan. Meng-Lin has been in attendance for 3 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 3.957. He plans to attend Appalachian State University this fall.
Wook Shin is the son of Sang Soo Shin and Sook Ja Seo of Seoul, South Korea. Wook has been in attendance for 3 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 3.944. He plans to attend Penn State University this fall.
Michael Dale Helm is the son of Reverend and Mrs. Gary Helm of Stafford, Virginia. Dale has been in attendance for 4 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 3.943. He plans to attend the University of Alaska in Fairbanks on a 4 year ROTC scholarship this fall.
Micah Nelson Evans is the son of Gary and Cindy Evans of Gates, North Carolina. Micah has been in attendance for 2 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 3.713. He plans to attend Alderson Broaddus College this fall.
Thomas Amadues Esposito is the son of Mr. Thomas J. Esposito of Mt. Sinai, NY. Thomas has been in attendance for 4 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 3.650. He plans to attend Rochester Institute of Technology this fall.
Young-Kee Hong is the son of Mr. Sung Kwan Hong of Boon-dang, South Korea. Young-Kee has been in attendance for 3 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 3.648. He plans to attend the University of Illinois in Urbanna-Champaign this fall.
Gideon Gurwel Mabeny is the son of John Mabeny and Elizabeth Mabeny of Rumbek, Sudan. Gideon has been in attendance for 3 years and has accumulated a grade point average of 3.581. He plans to attend the College of Wooster this fall.
