Food Drive at FUMA sets New Record
FUMA cadets set new record this year for their food drive. The cadets really got into the spirit of giving this year and the food they collected for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank proves that spirit. Last year the Corps of Cadets collected and donated 4,610 pounds of food. This year they exceeded their goal! Their goal this year was 5,000 pounds and they collected 5,800 pounds. This is a great feat considering they are at a boarding school and don't have access to big grocery stores in the county. In addition to the food collected, they raised enough money to purchase 2,000 meals for the children that are in the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank Network. We hope that many families will benefit from the efforts of the Corps of Cadets' generosity and we wish each family a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
