Woodworking Achievers Appear in World of Wood

Chris Nothnagle can turn any piece of wood into a masterpiece. He crafts with his hands and various woodworking tools objects of beauty and shares his talent with his woodworking class at FUMA. In the November/December issue of World of Wood the following clip appeared with a picture of Chris Nothnagle's students holding Aussie wood specimens.

News from Eugene Dimitriadis in Australia (Taken from World of Wood, Vol. 60, Number 6)

It started with Chris Nothnagle and I being beside one another, and displaying our wood items, during the Open Day at the Highlands meeting at Toowoomba last year. Chris did a magnificient job of recruiting new members at that meeting, but he also gave me a sloce of ancient Antartic wood. In response to that kind gesture I sent Chris a box of mixed figured 'Aussie' woods as a 'thank you' for his help and enthusiasm. Specimens that Chris could make into pens and eggs, etc. Well Chris teaches woodwork and it looks like many of these samples were likewise donated to his students. This personal thank you is a bit embarrassing, but is also very touching and exemplifies what the spirit of giving can do.
Thought I should share it with other members. Best wishes from Neerim, Eugene

Chris is a member of International Wood Collectors Society and receives their publication as a benefit.
