Power Source Team Visits FUMA
On October 28, 2007 Fork Union Military Academy hosted the Power Source Team for their Sunday morning chapel service. The ministry group brought their unique delivery of the gospel message to over 400 assembled young men, aged 6th grade through 12th grade.
Before all was said and done, frying pans and rebar had been bent, baseball bats snapped, full soda cans crushed, concrete blocks demolished, and a hot water bottle exploded, making it a memorable experience for all. However, the feats of strength exhibited by the men of the Power Source Team were used not to entertain, but to illustrate Christian truths and concepts.
Included in the service was a sermon presented by the group's leader, Brad Bell. He brought a powerful message that encouraged the assembly to focus on being Christ-like in their actions and to strengthen their relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
At the conclusion of the message, Bell encouraged those who wanted to publicly share their new walk with Christ or a rededication to Christ to stand. Responding to that call, 235 young men proudly rose to their feet. "It was great to see the gospel message presented to these young men in such a unique way. The cadets response was outstanding, and proof that young people hunger for God's presence in their lives" said James Benson, Upper School Chaplain at the school. The Power Source Team is based out of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA. Photos of the event are on the FUMA Photo Gallery.
