PG Defeats Pittsburgh Blue Storm

Varsity football defeated the Pittsburgh Blue Storm 38 to 0 on a brisk Sunday afternoon at Wilkinsburg High School Stadium. Fork Union was led by several outstanding performances. Richard Absher made some key blocks and came up with a few big catches to keep several offensive drives alive. Tailback Prince Young had several tough runs and ended the day with 15 rushes for 124 yards and one touchdown. Lawrence Ferrell also added a touchdown run to go along with his 7 rushes for 42 yards. Randall Toney chipped in with several key rushes on the afternoon.

Zach Webb played his wide receiver position strong all day as did Wesley Cannon. Gabe Correll added a receiving touchdown and several big catches. The defense shut down the Blue Storm for most of the day thanks to big tackles and QB pressures from Lue Akuak, Bill Romanow, and Lincoln Brian. Jamie Veney chipped in with a 25 yard fumble return for a touchdown. Wes Cannon, Akeriam Reames, and Randall Newsome played strong in the defensive backfield as they played tight coverage. FUMA's defensive played tough all day and was led by Mike LaBarre's two TFL's and QB sack, Nick Dottellis's three tackles and one TFL, and a sack by Eric Morrison. Kicker Charlie Grandfield had several deep kickoff's and two field goals.
